SQL 2014 fundamentally reshapes the database world, but Microsoft is being far too modest with their marketing. Officially, Microsoft is saying that Column Store Indexes can now be clustered. Under the covers, this means that the row store, the mainstay of industry since the days of floppy disks and non-networked computers, can now finally be retired.
